Alt Carbon is a science-led climate company focused on credible carbon removal and pioneering soil research. Their work is rooted in lab precision and scientific authority, with a vision to advance sustainable climate solutions.

I developed an intermediate brand language for Alt Carbon, bringing together illustration, typography, and layout to create clarity and consistency across all platforms. From the website and scientific documentation to editorial publications and the Substack newsletter, I built a visual system that made complex ideas accessible while giving the brand a distinctive and recognizable identity. This cohesive approach strengthened how Alt Carbon communicates its mission and positioned it as both credible and engaging in the climate space.

Editorial Illustrations

The Alt Carbon blog weaves narrative depth into climate science, stories, and policies, making complex ideas accessible and compelling. From explainers on carbon removal to field diaries and reflections on climate finance, it blends scientific rigor with storytelling to connect with diverse audiences.

I shaped the blog’s visual identity through illustrations built on conceptual metaphors that reflected each article’s core theme. Rather than simply accompanying the text, the visuals added narrative depth, and moment of contemplation–turning scientific explanations and field stories into more engaging, memorable experiences. This consistent, metaphor-driven approach gave the blog a distinctive editorial character and strengthened Alt Carbon’s storytelling voice.
